Hey everyone - i went to do the first front brake change today - the line from the caliper is a rigid line. Long story short - it snapped when i was taking the rotor off.

I think it's dumb... I am trying to see if there isn't something like standard rubber or braided that would fit.

Has anyone done this? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanx!

@andrewstuber off topic question sort of, how many miles you get on your truck before you had to change the breaks?

You can take some measurements, and replace the short hardline and the rubber flex line with custom steel braided lines.

Pro-tip, unbolt the 12mm that holds the hard line in place.

It's not rubber because its not supposed to move.

I'd personally get an OEM line replacement, it's a new truck and making a line isn't for newbies. Might take a day or two to get in but I'd say its worth it.

Oh i ordered the part from my local dealer - I'm not attempting that - I'm more thinking of doing a braided or rubber hose instead of the rigid

Just so next time, it won't be an issue for the pad and rotor change.

Just disconnect that clamp where the hard line ends next time and you will be able to hang the caliper from the uca.

    Dude... so obvious and simple!

My old Tacoma had all rubber, so i didn't have this issue haha.

Is there a thread on here that shows step by step in changing the front brakes, rotors and calipers?
