Starting to notice some corrosion on my drivers side rocker panel.

Looks like surface right now and I want to stop it from getting deeper.

What would be the best approach to stop this?

You could lightly buff with a Dremel type tool utilizing a lightly abrasive buffing wheel. I would utilize the pointed sanding or buffing tip to avoid damaging the non rust surface paint.

After removing all rust, wipe and clean off with alcohol wipe or clean cloth. Let dry. Then, apply Touch up paint from Toyota dealership. Or, if restored area is minimal, just apply clear nail polish to the area. Let dry for 60-90 mins.

    You should be good.

I also noticed the same condition on my recently purchased Tacoma which I need to do this soon myself.

I would take it to a body shop and have a professional repair it.

Toyota did release a TSB about this, T-SB-0021-19. Some members have had luck having the dealers cover the repair despite being out of warranty.

A search on this forum using the term "door sill rust" seems to bring up a myriad of threads about this issue and people's results with the dealer, DIY and shop repairs.
