Hi everyone. I just bought a 2018 SR5 with 27000 miles. I love the truck so far, however there is a ticking noise that I notice when it idles. Anyone else have the same issue?

I’ve had many Rangers over the years and knew all to well about the “Stranger Tick” especially in the mid to late 80’s models. Just caught me off guard and wasn’t expecting it from the Tacoma. Guess I’ll just get used to it again.

Everyone says to get used to the tuck but what is it caused by? I noticed it in my truck and it doesn’t worry me but does raise some questions. Welcome to TacomaWorld!

I’ve saw a thread, can’t remember where that suggested that it was coming from the fuel pump. Not sure if that is true, but if it is and if there is a problem with it I’m going to have to see if I can get it replaced under the warranty.
