22re auto shifting issues

i hava an 85 pickup auto efi 22re. shifts great until it gets to 3rd gear and within 1 second it shifts quickly into 4th.

background- it needs a rebuild since cylinder 4 is leaking oil though rings so I'm sure there is definite low compression in that cylinder.

Didn't know if there was something else causing the quick shift or if low compression in the that gear are being used in the cylinders for 3rd gear is causing the early shift?

Anyone?

i tightened kickdown cable.....seemed to help
