I’m consider doing a 1.5-2 inch lift in the front (already have 1.5 in rear along with 1/2 in in front) and stepping up to 285/75/16. What offset wheel works best for that to where it won’t rub on uca/ cab mount? I don’t mind cutting/molding fender liner and will do a cmc if 100% needed.

Generally speaking, positive offset you rub on the UCA, negative offset you rub on the cab mount. Pick your poison.

Can mount it is. I can cut that. Not sure how I’d alleviate rubbing the uca

I've read that people have good luck with SPC UCAs for that sort of thing. I have -10 wheels and I had to have a CMC done.

i have 16x8 0 offset rims. on Eibach stage 1 lift, JBA UCAs. currently on 265/75/16 MT, steeping up to 285/75/16 next. Thinking I will clear them fine.

I'd say pull the trigger knowing you may have to fix a few things to get it to work. I've read posts on here from people saying that they just had to do some light trimming to fit 285s with negative offset wheels. It's very much so a ymmv type of thing.

Oh, I also have horrible impulse control. So, my opinion on whether to buy something or not isn't the most solid.

What are you thinking for tires just out of curiosity? Im saving up right now $$, still have plenty of tread on my 265s.. Prices on 285s keep increasing...

I did a CMC as a preventive measure.
I'm not positive it needed one, but they are so inexpensive that why not.

Although not a massive difference I'd stick with 255/85 for the 2.7 personally. Taller, skinnier for mass and footprint

    Untitled.jpg

285 75s are slightly cheaper than the 255's (with STT Max)

The 255's are 5lbs lighter a tire. Not a hug difference, but combined with slightly less rolling resistance, its tempting.

Just a thought. Less rubbing as well.

I’d have zero problem sticking with the 255s on the truck right now, but they’re mud terrians. I’m lucky if I get 2-3 solid off road trips in a year. I can’t justify driving around on a mt the other 360 days in a year for that. If bfg made the 255 in a at, I’d do it in a heart beat. 265s are to short for the trailsi go on, 255s barley give the truck enough clearance already, so I’m forced to make 285s fit. Plus I think 285/255s are perfect for the Tacoma looks wise
