Im curious how responsive other 2nd gen owners trucks are when throttling, maybe its just me but I feel a lack of torque and smooth power band, constantly around 2k rpm and struggling to shift and find the right gear. Would like some insight as I have yet to ride or drive another 2nd gen to compare and would like to get it checked out while under warranty if there does seem to be a problem.

If i had to best describe it, id say it feels like a 3rd gen as I have had the opportunity to drive one of those.

I don't get on my acceleration too much and have never really thought the Tacoma was "responsive." Drives more like a Sherman tank to me.

Do you own the 4.0? The power for me has been relatively linear with a decent amount of low end torque to make my 33 in tires chirp from a stop.
