A bed mat and floor liners make life easier. I mounted Fastenal 800lb-rated d-rings (like $1.73 each) to the front two bed bolts and only use the loops for strapping in a couple of milk crates. When I get my headache rack back from the welder that will go on soon.

I think someone put a gun to his head and demanded he write a joke that was funny.

When I had a 2wd pickup long ago I found a anti-roll bar on the rear axle gave it much more traction in low traction situations. The axle would wind up and one wheel would loose traction.

Thank you I will. I guess I don't necessarily feel like I need to mod it, but I'm just that type of person. I love my stock Tacoma and couldn't be happier with it, and I'll be driving it basically stock for the coming months if not longer. But I also love getting hands-on with things and making them my own. Plus with all the options and given that it's the first vehicle I've owned with the capability to be actually be modded, I'm just exploring what's out there.

5.29 Nitro Gear, JBA Offroad UCAs, Rough Country M1 Coilovers, Rear: Bilstein 5100's with 2.75"in. Blocks, 20" Fuel Assault on Atturo: Trail Blade XT's, Stereo that will make you go deaf.
I put together a 3" leveling kit, upgraded to 20" wheels with 285/55/20 tires (32 in.) I actually have another set of 16's (Moto Metal 951) with tires that are barely 1 yr old Firestone Destination AT's with plenty of tread left. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/16-moto-metal-wheels-w-firestone-destination-a-t.671649/

My last taco was 2004 4wd....never used it. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tntoyo79s-build-thread.618168/

The one prior to that was 2000 V6 Xtra cab Pre-Runner. I bought in California used in 2001 w/ 42K miles. I drove that 2wd truck for 15 years and sold it with 267K miles on it. Never once did I need or wish I had 4wd. I had a tranny cooler on it with AAL....towed a 19 ft. Sea Ray bowrider from SoCal to Seattle over the mountains, just took it out of overdrive and she roll'.

I think it's all what you use your truck for. If you are wheeling you know you need 4wd. If you are hauling dirtbikes to the track or trails, towing your fishing rig....you are probably good w/ 2wd.

Enjoy your Taco! Most fun vehicle to own for sure.

BTW: I just ordered 5.29 Ring & Pinion from Nitro. I'll post a separate thread about upgrading a 3rd Gen 2WD to eliminate it being such a dog hunting for gears and never really settling into 6th (2nd overdrive) on the Hwy.
