33s on stock rims

I have a 2011 double cab. I'm putting a 3 inch lift on and want to put bigger tires. I'm on 265 70 17 in the KO2s currently and I'm looking at the KM3s from BFG in 285 70 17. Will these fit on stock wheels or will they rub too much? Should I look at new wheels or spacers too?

 

New wheels will be best, but spacers will do the job if your on a budget. 265s just clear the UCAs and 285s will hit the UCAs on stock wheels. What wheels do you have on it now?

 

I have stock wheels. Ideally I would like to keep price down but I may be open to new wheels

 

You won’t need much for spacers if you go that route, an inch would do it. If you go for new wheels 0 offset or -10 makes it easier to fit the wheels in the wheel well. Hub centric as well.

depends on your budget, if you are trying to not spend cash then the spacers will work fine. Your wheels right now have around a +30 offset so a 1 inch spacer will bring the 285s out flush or just a touch past your fenderwell. If you have an extra $1000 or so then new wheels are awesome! I like SCS wheels, Method, Black Rhino all have some nice models. If you stick with a 17 x 8 or 8.5 hub centric with a 0 or -10 offset it makes it easier to fit your tire with less cutting.

One other question. Is a 285 70 17 a 33" tire?

Ok cool. So for a KM3 should I go 285 70 17 or 285 75 17?

 

You’ll need at minimum a set of spacers or the tires will rub on your control arm and frame rail.
