5 months and counting

5 months and counting since I ordered a 2022 TRD OR DC with premium and tech package. Dealer is saying that there are some shortages on blind spot detection or some BS. At what point do I tell the dealer to return my $500 deposit and wait for a 2023? This is f’ing ridiculous.

 

Just do it. Then you'll be waiting even longer for a 2023 truck that is exactly the same as the 2022 you have already been waiting for. Makes perfect sense.

You could also just go buy a Tacoma elsewhere, they aren't difficult to find if you're willing to drive a little.

 

Hey, if it makes you feel any better; I am enjoying the shit out of my Tacoma. It's a really awesome truck.

It is an honest, if sarcastic, answer though. Go elsewhere and buy sooner, keep waiting for what you ordered or wait even longer for the same thing labeled as a 2023 model. Pretty straightforward.

Been here ever since...with a 365 to Iraq and retirement from Aviano AB, Italy in between.

You would basically just lose your place in line and prolong the wait for the same truck in 2023, seems like best option is to hang in there unless you want something different.

Seems to be a common issue with all the new vehicles: chip issue delays. Hang in there.

I was in the same situation last year, waited and waited, finally decided to buy used (at a premium of course), but super happy with my new/used truck.

Could have been worse. You could have gotten sent where my wife's grandson ended up after tech school....Minot AFB ND. I told him he might start to see the ground again sometime next month

 

Start searching other dealers (nationally) and when you find something you want, buy it and then cancel your order. No sense in cancelling now without a plan just to get the $500 back.
