I was in the bed of the truck earlier today and, even though there was no breeze (had the windows shut), it wasn't any warmer in there than outside. I'll have to throw a thermometer in there and see what it does. I wouldn't haul the dogs in there during summer. They'd have to be up front in the ac.

I have had to before working dogs in training are not the most umm stable dogs to have behind you when some one gets near the vehicle, toll booths ( they all seem to hate them) . I have a crate fan that I also ordered the freeze packs for they last for crap maybe an hour. But with that and 2 6 inch muffin fans on the back of the crate (see my album) and a bucket of ice water hanging on the side even at 90 degrees in a black truck cap windows open it never got past 85 Deg. I have rigged up various methods over the years since they will not give us take home cars .

I'm just going to bondo it and shoot the whole thing flat tan. That'll shed some heat and hide the dirt. Out here in the desert everything gets dirty and a guy would go crazy trying to keep a rig clean. Since everything is dry and the humidity is low, rust and salt aren't an issue so no real need to keep it washed down and rinsed off. There's almost always a thin layer of dust on every thing. When the bugs get too thick then I'll run it through the car wash.

Trust me my friend even by your VA standards it was nasty and turning green . Want a better laugh at my expense .. I am waiting for a guy to call me this week to come and do a double marine wax coat on it .. So he will wash it anyhow lol . I have it waxed every two years and I will not do it not on a bet the roof would put me in the hospital lol cause sure as hell I probably would slip off a ladder leaning that far out .

Look for a little bit extra in your next paycheck. Like I used to tell my men it will not be there but you sure as hell can look for it. Perfect- that is the last little bit I was missing, evaporative cooler. Knew there was a reason I picked up that RTIC 45 ice chest on sale a few months back. Mainly thinking for hunting but perfect for extra ice water bottles.

When I get the jerky making down I owe you a package in the mail now, thank you!

Yeah I don't either normally and I don't even live where summers are literately likely hotter than hell as you do.

Ripped out the back seats and turned it into a dog bench. But carrying a year and a half dog for the first time am not going to chance him trying to climb up with me while doing 75 down the highway. Will likely take a few weeks to get him used to traveling in the back seat and going to be interesting to see how the 2 do together. Hopefully well.

Now that I have a 4 probe ATC unit for the Weber Smokey Mountain I don't need the Maverick remote meat thermometer anymore its been sitting in the hutch. Going to put it in the crate and truck.

One of the other benefits of having a truck is I can throw them in the back if they get skunked. New guy is going to need some aversion training yet for skunks, porkies and badgers.

Well maybe .. I do a lot of my own work lol In this case it was turning green as things here in this state like to do . I will go take a picture of the north end of my house lol you will see I have to get it power washed and coated every 3 years yep this is the year . If I did not get after it , it would stain the fiberglass . PVC siding though it doesn't so I wait till it gets almost green all over lol.
