yea! Blake is a country guy who hunts, fishes and sings about it and got hooked up with that older City woman on the tv show they were on. it just seemed out of character to go from catchin and fryin fish to eatin sushi in the big city lites.so is he country or just singin about it to make money. thats why old country music is so good and most of the new ant much. older music they wrote about what they lived. George Jones drivin a lawmower to the liquor is why his songs had heart. my faught i should have just posted music without opinions. have a good one!

Yeh, unconditional love. I'll put this here for discussion, do you pet owners take them to the vet to be put down? I used to do that, but the last two Labs I've shot them.

Don't judge me too harshly, it's always difficult, but I just do it myself. I got tired of waiting until they couldn't walk anymore, watching them deteriorate to the point they had to be carried into the vet so a stranger could insert a catheter into their leg to euthanize.

The previous dogs knew death was coming they fought it all the way, trying to bite the vet as the euthanase drug was being injected into the catheter. I couldn't do that anymore, holding the dog's head down while a stranger injected the drug.

I'll do it myself before the dog is helpless, can't walk anymore. I don't like to see my Labs so helpless they can't even get outside to relieve themselves.

damn, that's harsh. My 11 year old border collie is on her last weeks now and I don't think I could do that. Regardless I don't see taking her to a vet, I'm looking at home euthanasia so at least the surroundings are familiar. My first dog and it's going to gut me no question.

No, all is cool. I just didn't know what you meant. That deal surprised me too. He was always bragging about being married to her.

My father euthanized my first cat with a shovel. Thought he was doing the right thing, but I never forgave him for it. I found out a few years afterward and our relationship went downhill after that. Even when he was dying of cancer, I didn't really go to visit much. Sucks, but that's the way I'm wired.

If you can take away your pet's pain, then only you are accountable for the way you do it. There is no good or easy way out. The final thing you do for them is take all their pain and transfer it to yourself. Just make darn sure everyone who loves that animal shares in your decision.

    Evening Everyone !!!! :hattip:

Snickers seems to be doing better since I started her on meds , she hasn't had that bad coughing /gagging attack as frequently as she had yesterday . She still is really quiet/ sleeping more , not as playful as usual but seems a little more comfortable

As I walked in the door a few min ago I saw her Sister Rascal sleeping close to her !!!

I can’t find myself taking my best friend down to well house and ole yeller it with my pistol. We put ours down with respect as a member of the family and sometimes have them cremated with ashes in urn,as requested by wife.

    Who left the barn open?
Did these newbies just invite themselves in ?
    Didn’t take the test?
    Failed if you ask me.
There’s lots of pet/family owners here that wouldn’t “off” their pets.
    I’m out

If the field is saturated it's not going to work. One of our rv dumps has a fairly small field and can't keep up with the bigger tanks on today's rv's. When the big rv shows come to Quartzsite and our visitation count climbs in January, the top of the field raises. I put a catch berm around the bottom end just incase it blows. We're working on doing a different set up but it's still a couple years till it gets built.

Shit flows downhill unless it's already at the bottom....then it doesn't flow at all.

The lead paint will counter-act all the other stuff....you'll be fine.

I said don't judge me too harshly, but you did so. Dogs are gonna die, they get put down by a stranger at a vet, or you do it yourself.

I've gone both routes, I feel better doing it myself quickly instead of a stranger inserting a catheter into the leg.

I respect your choice. Please don't pretend like my choice to shoot my dog is cruel. It isn't cruel.

I've had to have my last 2 put down - broke my heart. Vet's here don't do at home euthanasia. They both loved riding in the vehicle, so after a long ride, we went to the vet. They were both calm and they knew the vet, so it wasn't strangers there and I was there holding them. No way I could shoot my pup's. Hard enough to say good bye without being the one delivering the blow.

    Good news Chuck

Yup, cremated and brought back home!!!

20 years ago I waited until the Labs couldn't walk anymore, waited until those sweet dogs were reduced to being unable to even walk outside, were pissing and shitting inside because they couldn't walk outside.

If it's obvious the dog is on it's last legs, that's no way for a Lab to go out. Lab that has been all over Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, I figure I'll put it down myself in the wild.

Not judging you but there is no way in hell I could do that.
I’ve also known my vet for over 30 years so not really a stranger.
