98 manual shift knob

Hey guys

looking for recommendations on aftermarket shift knobs. I’d really love to get a vintage style shifter but I don’t know where to look. I don’t particularly like the shape of the stock shifter, and it being a polished piece of vinyl now I figured it’s time for something else.

 

Is Ellis Precision still in business? I got my shift knob from them back in like 2017 and they seemingly disappeared...

 

I’m only seeing auto shifters from that website

 

I have an automatic, but I swear they were making stick shift knobs then too; Must've stopped making manual knobs...

 

Figure out what you want find a local machine shop make one for you

Get an 8 ball from a pool table and drill our the 8. Epoxy in a threadzert and paint that logo yourself

This is exactly how I imagine my paint skills would turn out after making a solid knob

 

It's not "vintage", but you might like the OEM Hilux, leather shift knob. Beautiful fit and finish.

 

Definitely will think about it. It looks like a nicer version of the stock one I currently have

I had the same version as SilverBulletII before I started doing some interior swaps.

There was a long delivery time for my order. It shipped directly from Taiwan.

 

For anyone interested hotrodshiftknob.com makes this specific shifter whenever they can source the Toyota insert. I just got an email saying I can be put on a waitlist and they run $100-120 depending on the cost of supplies.

 

I have been eyeing the low range off-road billet t case shifter.

I found these.... super nice. If I didnt have to buy all new brake and bearings, i would buy these

 

Landcruiser Prado knob is what I have. Its not a good angle of it in the pic but its basically a leather wrapped OEM knob with a plastic cap printed with the gear layout.

 

This is what I have in mine, plain Jane round knob for the tranny and a cylindrical one for the x-fer case.

 

Those are super nice. I feel like they wouldn’t go with my permanently stained gray interior as well as I would hope though.
