Taco is 2019 with 83K miles

How often should the compressor shut off, and for how long should it stay off? Humidity here in AZ is as low as it gets so evaporator shouldn't freeze.

I’m not an hvac expert but all I can say is that as long as the ac is on, the ac clutch should be spinning all the time but there is an exception on certain vehicles in which the ac compressor builds enough pressure to keep the Freon circulating so the clutch stops and restarts when pressure needs to build up again to recirculate the Freon.

Not sure what you mean, the compressor will cycle off as needed to prevent the evaporator from freezing up and/or if the compressor discharge pressure rises too high.
There's a ton of factors that would influence how often it cycles.

It's not like a home HVAC system that cycles on and off based on the temperature it's set at.

Are you asking because the clutch seems to be cycling fast(er)?

That can be a sign of a slightly undercharged system

I've never paid attention to cycle rate. A/C is one of those items I forget about as long as its working. It seems to be working properly. My question was just curiosity. I was assuming A/C cycles on a fixed schedule to ensure evaporator doesn't freeze.

It uses a temperature sensor probe in the evaporator to prevent freezup not a timer, most systems cycle off around 34-36F and back on around 37-40F evaporator temp.
