2012 Tacoma with 230k miles, recently threw codes for front left and rear left abs sensor faults, plus two other abs codes all at the same time after the abs activated for no reason braking on dry pavement.

since then, brake pedal is getting softer. As far as I can tell the abs module/pump has failed and is letting air into the system. If this is an accurate diagnosis, does anyone have experience with such a repair? Seems like the necessary equipment to replace and bleed the abs module isn’t accessible to even some brake shops so I figure it might unfortunately be a dealership thing. TIA

I pulled the ABS#1 fuse in the engine to Disable the ABS Module. That way you just have old fashioned non ABS brakes. I'd check that and see if the brakes don't work fine like that. I have the same issue on my dad's truck. I took it around the block and couldn't get it to stop at the stop signs, scary. I pulled the fuse and now it stops fine. The ABS light will be on thou because of the missing fuse. Good Luck
