@RelentlessFab steel reinforcement and copious amounts of internal sound deadening. I have to warn anyone that tries to open my tailgate.

swingout finally came in the mail.
Just switched from having forgot about it, to "what am I doing..."

theoretically, if I figure out install, it should look like this.
Really need to learn to weld already...

which has me now thinking a number of thoughts, that I'm curious to hear y'all opinion on.

#1. It's a modular holed panel. This may add more weight, that I'm basically wasting and not taking advantage of, intending to simply mount one wheel/tire. Not a bunch of stuff.

#2: how important is modular anyway? I suppose any holder(s) I get later on, I can drill holes in, that match up to the flat gate
and they can be re positioned over and over again, somewhat, like Legos
However, the way I see it, if I really sit down and think hard about what I want to put, where, why; the "permanent" aspect of welding on holders, potentially using less metal/weight (it only matters so much anymore at this point...), their permanent mounting may not be so bad

#3: hopefully there's a way to clear the shell window opening, without having to open swing

#4: out of all the swingouts on the market, is there any particular one that is best?
One thing I know is, Rigd came out with a new latch months ago that's supposed to be vastly superior to any other latch ever made for a swingout.
So, if it's any other company, or most companies, odds are they are not using that latch.
IDK if Rigd sells kits, or just the latch, and potentially make the rest of the mechanism from plate.

#5: I can see the appeal of modular panel on the left side. Tire at right, to counter taco lean weight.
Then whatever you want on left.
Speaking of that, how do you determine what is best? Like what to carry, and where.
Wheel, overlanding, camping, whatever you wanna call it, common items are:
    -fuel cans
    -water cans
    -floor jack
    -hilift
    -propane
    Is there any "ideal" setup?

-water cans: would get hot in sun
-hi-lift, doesn't *have* to be there. There's mounting kits to put it on tube front bumper.
-floor jack, yes, swingout is probably ideal
-propane, also onto swingout (for safety)
-light weight shit really doesn't need to go there. Traction boards, boxes, etc. can go on roof racks or window rack. But given the size, awkwardness, and weight of above objects (propane floor-jack etc.) the best place for those kinds of things is probably swingout.

Unless, maybe with a modular panel it *is* truly worth it
because if you get something wrong and want to change later on, you can take your mount (propane holder for example), close up and weld the holes drilled shut
line it up a different new way
    drill new holes.

Not sure what prices folks are charging in terms of local fabricators with experience doing swingout stuff, along the lines of
"hey, I've got an HC bumper, how much to make and put dual swingouts?"

There is just so much shit to choose from regarding what to put, and where to put it
    -hi lift
    -badlands floor jack
-one or two cans, maybe just fuel (I have two water I kept in backseat)
    -propane of whatever size

All I know right now is that dual swingouts look sick
should probably add tables on the insides fold down, if there is room
and at this point, back of the truck is probably now literally bulletproof...

TL;DR: how do you get it right the first time
