Adjusting idle rpm 3rz

Hello so I’m trying to bring my rpm at idle higher cause when in drive it’s around 630 and shakes the truck a little. I was wondering if it’s true if I adjust the idle the computer will just adjust for it and it will be basically the same?

 

Yes if the computer is in control the only way to get it higher is to open the throttle so much that the idle air control can't close any more to compensate but at that point it may set a code for high idle speed or TPS voltage.
600-700 sounds about right for a 4cyl hot idle in drive.

 

Yea but for some reason the motor shakes quite a bit. Not misfiring no codes.

 

Are your motor and transmission mounts good, sometimes a bad mount can exaggerate engine vibrations.

 

Yea well I’ve read that really changing mounts does a little but no much. The motor has excessive movement in drive but doesn’t move off the mounts when I test them

 

Some 4 cylinders do just vibrate alot idling in drive but I haven't driven enough 4cyl tacoma's to know if it's normal or not.

 

Yea hard to say. Doesn’t stall so I don’t worry to much

 

check the plugs

make sure they are gapped correctly

check the coil wires

they may be loose......................old

maybe need replacement
