air intake mod

ok so i was doing the air filter mod (taking the secondary filter out) when i accidentally drilled a hole through the whole plastic box >_< lol. will it make a big difference if i keep it like that or should i buy a new box?

 

i actually deilled holes in my stock ab n got alittle proformance outa it but i hav a knN cai now

 

havin a hard time deciding wether it would be worth the xtra $ to buy an intake or just purchase a drop in filter for my '08 2.7. reading mixed reviews from people on here. takin into account the $ isnt really the issue, just want the best results. any other input from anyone would help. also plan on buyin a header shortly before or after. removed the 2nd air filter seems like it might have made a difference.
