I have a 2009 with many miles on it, i bought the truck way back in 2010 and it had a jvc HU. the HU has been having issues for the past month, it would just power off, sometimes power back on, sometimes not, when it did power back on it would lose all its settings, like it defaulted itself, anyways, about 2 weeks ago it finally powered itself off and never turned back on, so I ended up purchasing an Alpine CDE-152 and installed it this evening, and nothing. same deal, it will not power on at all. ive checked all my wiring and I am about 99% certiain i have everything wired correctly, however, nothing, it wont power on at all. I do not even know where to being other than checking how i wired everything, and like I said, I think i have it all done properly, not only that the back lights on my instrument cluster will not light up. WTF. The turn signal lights will light up, parking brake light, all the sensors and other lights light up, i just can not see any of the guages lit up at all, did i mess something up and blow some bulbs back there???

    PLEASE HELP.

    thanks.

It sounds like you have some electrical problems under the dash, not uncommon after "many miles". I would start by pulling a wire directly from the battery (fused of course) and see if it turns on that way (you can twist the yellow and red wires together for this test as they both require 12v + to turn on the HU). Also check the ground wire. If it works then you know you have an issue in your wiring somewhere.

I wish I could be more helpful but it's impossible to troubleshoot your electrical system over the internet. Good luck.
