Hi all! New to the TW. I have an 08 tacoma 2.7. Garage said alternator was bad. Bought remanned alternator and new battery. Alternator isn’t charging the battery. I’ve tried 5 remanned alternators and 1 denso alternator. Still not charging. Alt fuse is good. I’m at a loss. Any ideas what my problem might be? Thank you all.

Could be multiple things. You will need to do some testing. The alt itself, bad battery, wiring issues or bad connections. A problem with the engine control module. Bad fuses. Some of these you have checked. Just a few things I can think of. TNShooter probably has you covered with that link. Update us with what you find out if you think about it.

A lot of people don’t know that alternators have to be turned on.
And that they don’t charge all the time.

Thank you all for the advice and information. Upon closer inspection, I found that the power wire to the alternator had broken off where it bends to go up into the fuse box. Put on a new bracket and attached back to the post. Problem solved.
