    Hey man, you do you.

I was a Jeep guy 10 years before I ever discovered Taco's. Each have their own pro's and con's. Jeep also does have a very large and loyal following, much like Taco's.

At the end of the day, it's your money, brother - it could be spent in much worse ways than a Jeep.

    Congrats on your new vehicle!

    So it's got a 3.6 L... what else?
    I've got an 03 TJ.
And no flame from me. I've had 3 HiLux's, a 4-Runner and 3 Land Cruisers.

I'm not going to flame you since its a nice jeep man. If I had the money I'd own a new Tacoma and jeep.

X2. It is the tacomaworld.com for Jeeps. I'm over there too with several threads on my Jeep build, but only active if people message me. Run topless and doorless. Nothing will compare.

That's a good start. Let the mods begin. (Just Empty Every Pocket). Safety first.

Wait. Intake? The TJs were specifically designed for high depth water fording with internal snorkels so you can dunk the hood under water and not hydro lock the engine (assuming you maintain a wake). I've done it and it is impressive. The aftermarket intakes remove this ability and drastically increase hydro lock potential in the name of a few unusable top end ponies. I'm a bit rusty but I believe the JK shared a similar design. Sounds crazy but it is easier to push a wrangler well beyond a Taco.
