I read posts on installing speakers but here is my question. I have Dual 6x9's with a mounting depth of 3-5/8 so I know my adapters will have to be probably more than 1" thick. The mounting height says 1/2" with the tweeter protrusion. If I do mount the speakers in the front doors with a larger adapter, will I need to trim the plastic around the inside of the door panel speaker enclosure or will it fit without trimming or will it not fit at all? I am thinking my speakers may extend from the door more than an 1-1/2" or so?
