So I went out to my truck today and wasn't too happy. Damn bear tried to open up my shell and wound up breaking most of the trimming/enclosure to it.

Anyone think ARE or someone else could fix this, or am I just screwed?

No only wood and that doesn't really help answer my question.

I'm not sure how yours attaches. I have a different style ARE cap but with that same peice of plastic that's smashed and mine is riveted in place. Maybe post some more pics?

I think it's fixable without replacing the entire back glass hatch but I'd go to an ARE dealer and see what they say. You'll have to order the replacement part from them anyways so it's worth a stop.

I'm sure it would. I just saw it and it's been a busy day so I haven't even taken any steps in that direction as of yet. I just wasn't sure if it could even be replaced.

I guess my point is that it would be their problem to figure that out

Depending on if he has a deductible and how much it is it could be cheaper to just get it fixed at an ARE dealer.

I'd still go to an ARE dealer, get a quote for the part(s) and repair and then make a decision from there.

I had an ARE on my first gen tundra. It was "used" and missing some trim, and when I contacted ARE through their Facebook page they were very responsive. Sent me missing trim pieces super fast at no charge. I sent them pics and the model number. Great company.

Just out of curiosity, why contact them through Facebook and not on the phone?

I suppose you could contact them in any manner that is convenient. I hadn't even thought about it and saw a post on FB. So I clicked send message. Calling is often inconvenient as well. With an email, I was able to attach pics and took care of everything in the evening outside of my normal working hours. So, convenience and access is why I did it that way.
