Sorry if this has been covered before - is there a way to hook up multiple cameras to an ‘anytime’ camera set-up? For example: front, rear, l/r side cameras (under mirrors), high-mount trailer camera, etc.

Could this be done with a mechanical/rotary switch? Or with some sort of electronic (latching?) selector?

    Any help appreciated!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It has been covered, several times...last week was latest.

This is what I'm running: https://germeslab.com/en/rfcc/. It is controlled with the radio switches on the steering wheel. Mounted the front camera in the grille. It's a game changer on the trails.

From my experience, Germes and Anytime camera kits will only do 2 cameras, front and back. If you want more than that, you might have to look into a new head unit. For example, the Stinger Heigh10 has camera inputs for 4 cameras, front, back, left and right, with the interfaces built into the software. Not sure how you could do more than 4 though unless you swap the wiring from the back to the trailer camera but that would be wiring and not software.

Not just anytime F/R cameras, but maybe 5 or 6 cameras.

    Yes - this.
    Stock HU.
‘Anytime’ mod to turn the display on.
‘Input selector’ to choose one of several cameras.

Anybody in the A/V world have any suggestions for the ‘input selector’?

I have been looking at adding two of these units to my Pioneer Head Unit. It has inputs for four cameras. I am planning on using hard switches to trigger the cameras. PAC VS-41

I second the PAC VS-41. That is what I have controlled by switches and reverse/turn signals. I also added a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B155G5M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
One on the reverse function which enables to rear mounted side cameras, and one on the front function that allows to forward facing side cameras. Those additional controllers are controlled by the Meso shifter buttons. The VS-41 is just regular switches controlling it. My set up is probably a wee bit overkill….

But do look into the VS-41. It has high and low (meaning +/-) triggers for each feed, and a 2 second delay built in, so if you do use turn signals to trigger it, the camera doesn’t flash with the indicator lights.

Thanks - I saw this but wasn’t sure it was compatible with the factory cameras.

Thanks - this is what I was wanting to do. Front input could be grill, left or right side. Parking assist cameras. Rear input could be tailgate or high-mount camera. Trailer hook-up or blind spot monitoring.

Do you have any details on your set-up? I’m not getting the impression that ‘overkill’ is a stopper here on TW.

I could help you on what you want to do. My system is a tad more complicated than I let onto though... those same buttons on the Meso shifter also control the lights if the camera isn't engaged. Left button lights up left ditch, cornering, and roof lights, while the right button does the right side. And if you press both buttons, it turns on the high beams and the front facing light bars. If that isn't overkill, I am not trying hard enough

But as to what you want to do, the best place to start is 1) how are you looking to control all these cameras? A physical button for each? 2) What stereo do you have?

Been looking a cameras -way too many choices. I found this on Amazon, but not on Anytime website:

    upload_2024-2-7_20-8-0.jpg

    So - for controls:
First need is ‘anytime’ rear function for trailer hook-up.
Second is front camera, for parking assist.
Next would be manual select for L/R cameras, for parking or off-road spotting.
Nice-to-have would be high-mount rear camera, for trailer / blind spot monitoring.
And last would be automatic L/R activation with turn signals.

Any controller recommendations, Germes vs Anytime, or the above controller?

Any recommendations on cameras? I like my stock backup camera - the image is very flat / undistorted. (On my wife’s Crosstrek, the image is very fish-eyed.)
