Nice! I used them when I lived MD, Unfortunately we cant use mechanicals in Idaho to shoot game animals. just like lighted nocks are illegal here. I shot a nice spike in MD with one of the rage 2blades and it was a similar blood trail. Found him maybe 50yds away following the red trail of blood.

The mechanicals, I can kinda sorta maybe understand. There have been some real crappy ones out there. Not saying I agree with the law, but can at least "understand" the rational behind it. The lighted nocks are just plain bravo sierra. There is zero reason not to allow them. Being able to find your arrow at first and last light is the first step in recovery. Makes no sense at all.

Yep agree 100%, the laws are OLD laws I believe...lighted nocks would be more helpful than harmful. Maybe some of the older mechanicals are not as good but nowadays Most are deadly and work great! Dont get me started on the muzzle loader laws here ;)

Caught a glimpse of 1 deer walking thru about 75 yards today. No clue what it was. I only saw 2 does on the drive over. Still slow here.

Been raining here pretty much since Saturday night. Had 2 inches Saturday night and been light to steady rain since then. We are still seeing deer and a few decent bucks. I seen a good 160 class Saturday night before the rain started. All I can say is thank god for tower stands and pop ups. Sitting in pop up right now with steady rain, hunting standing beans with buck decoy. Will be time to rattle soon to see if I can get any bucks attention.ECA01B63-B10C-47FC-B0E1-34A5BC040452.jpg

Supposed to rain here as well the next several days. Gonna head out Thursday morning with the camera. Supposed to be on the mid 30's in the morning. Till then, keep checking off the honey-do list! Earn some bonus points for late flintlock season.

Woke up to 20-25 mph west wind today...at least it’s a “dry” wind!! Good luck everyone now’s the time, me and my buddy both had encounters last night, neither could pull it off. Mine was 160 class but it was getting dark and he stayed about 60 yards out.

Had a pretty good hunt going this morning. Several does in neighbors alfalfa with a couple of good bucks chasing. Decided to rattle and the bigger of the bucks started running my way until 2 coyotes headed him off. They pretty much cleared the field and my hunt was pretty much over then. Seen a couple of does and 1 small buck after that.

Saw my first good buck of the year today. Had a doe eating acorns at 27 yards and a small buck came in and bumped her. They ran north about 75 yards then a 150ish ran out of a thicket and bumped her. They all went north of me. I got in a tree at 1:25 and saw my first deer (4pt) at 1:33. 8 deer total. Pretty good afternoon. I will be in the same spot, only 50 yards farther north, tomorrow at noon. Good luck to everyone.

Long time bowhunter and target shooter until 2 years ago when my shoulders put an end to it. Luckily, in the same year that my shoulders forced me to stop with the vertical bow, crossbows were made legal in archery season. It is not the same as hunting with a vertical bow (not even close) but a least i can still hunt early season when there is far less hunters roaming the woods (or whats left of them here after clear cutting). Been a member on archery talk for a few years and now on crossbow nation as well.

I still can pull my bow, but in dire need of shoulder surgery. Im not looking forward to that...I have options though if I get shoulder surgery I can get a doctors note and use a crossbow here.
