Decided I think I'm not a huge fan of multi pin sights. Ordered an HHA ultra single pin. Also eyeing the new PSE Carbon 35. I've got a fairly long draw, 31", and my Hoyt just feels tiny, ata is 31", and I think I'd like to try a longer bow. Opinions on PSE or longer bows?

A short ATA is nice when you need it. It's great in a blind and still hunting. Go shoot a few it's the only way to find out.

Also, this guy has walked by at less than 20 yards the last 3 afternoons I have hunted. And I have been in a different tree each time.

I still have an old PSE that is 42 or 44 ATA. When I pick that up now I can't believe I shot a bow that long.

I used to shoot the aluminum xx78 super slams in a 2514 shaft, those things looked like broom handles flying through the air compared to today’s arrows.

Used to shoot a Hoyt Raptor Excel. Sent a 29" Easton 2315 (535 grain total weight) downrange at 245fps. Penetration was NOT a problem. Keeping it tuned? Whole 'nother story.

I shot 2413 and my buddy shot 2512. You could pretty much shoot 1 deer and the arrow was done. If you were really luck, you could reuse it.

I have one of those too. They're handy to keep your broadheads in one spot.

Last day. It's so cold here in Michigan right now at least I'll have a stove in my gun blind.

Any of you guys shoot in your basements or garages over the winter in the colder months?

I shoot in my basement. Short ranges only obviously but anything helps.

I don't know what the hell the deal is in VA, not seeing any chasing or anything where I hunt. Not even seeing random bucks on the camera either. Gonna probably try my other spot here in the next couple days. It is supposed to snow here tomorrow so we will see!

Are the deer there under a lot of pressure?

I was reading how some states only allow one buck to be taken per hunter. It may not be the best for all hunters, I think that's actually a good idea in high pressure areas. It would allow the bucks to mature more. Michigan is not one of these states.

I wouldn't say a lot of pressure. It's in an area with a few houses so they are used to seeing people. I have never been winded or busted in the stand and they are definitely pretty comfortable. Normally due to the high volume of does, you could see at the least some random bucks coming through. There are definitely big bucks around, but a big 5 pointer is all I have seen as far as anything bigger than a young scrub.

Yeah I agree. There were a ton of smallies (spikes, 4’s and 6’s) during the summer and stuff, but now it’s like they all dissapeared. I know that bucks split up towards the rut but these are all young guys. They don’t even know what the hell the rut is lol!
