At my work we have a 120’ garage I might set something up in there to strengthen my arm. I’m about 90% since my shoulder surgery. My new bow is so much smoother to draw back.

 

Bet you can't wait to shoot again after that surgery. What bow did you get?

I’ve been shooting for two months but going slow. I got a Matthews triax

 

Rotator cuff, five bone spurs removed and bicep relocate

 

Y'all are lucky. Most of you see more deer in a week than you could in AZ in a year. When you do see them, they seen you and are gone.

 

TAKE YOUR TIME! I had a shoulder replacement. rushed it after 3 months, And its never been right since!

 

My surgery was last December. I hear you on rushing it I went back to work to soon and it wasn’t smart.

Serious question. How do you hunt deer in AZ? Is it spot and stalk, ground blind or something else?

Good deal! I bought my son a pair of 8x42 Diamondbacks last year. To me, they are clearer then my Nikon Monarch 8x42's especially at first light and dusk. We pretty much borrow each others equipment all the time. I was told hands off the binoculars.

I've been there with my dad a few times and they are hard to find. The last trip up there was in Aug of 13. This beast was standing in the road.

First light and dusk are when it matters the most. Was trying to use my rangefinder last weekend to glass ahead of me and its just not working out under the limited canopy that's left when its early, late, or cloudy.

 

You like the Triax? Looks like a great bow.

 

Can someone please chime in and tell me their opinion or experience with this setup. I have done a google search and it appears this bow is no longer on the market but from the reviews I have read it seems like a good bow for a beginner to moderate archer. I'm sure the seller is a good guy but I would like to hear from an unbiased source.

I am new to archery and I don't think I will use this to hunt. I used to shoot guns but got sick of the high priced ammo and having to drive far to shoot. With a bow my wife and I can shoot in our backyard or family pasture.

Feels a little heavy. That could be just because I haven’t shot in a while. I like the short ata and the bow is very smooth.
