Back in the 70's & 80's, Armstrong Tru Tracs were one of the few all terrain type tires and were very popular. I had a set on my FJ40, great on the beach and not so great in rain and snow. I see now that "Armstrong" has reemerged and they offer a new Tru Trac AT. As far as tires go, they are probably the most inexpensive tires that I've come across and the reviews are pretty good. I'm not looking to buy tires now but they do sound interesting. Does anyone have any experience with they?

It's a brand "in name only", like many these days.

They are owned by a company called Zafco that globally manufactures tires.

They are cheap enough to give it a shot but don't expect it to be a Michelin or Bridgestone.

Discount Tire actually has (had?) some in house brands that were decent quality and in the same price range. Might give those a look.
