Hey MY First Gen Tacoma Brothers,

My buddy Sean and I have another one for you and it's broken down into 3 parts because it's a long one. Sean's transmission imploded on him so we picked up a remanufactured one from a local Toyota dealer and installed it ourselves. The job was done on a 2002 4runner but it should be very similar to doing it on a 1st Gen Tacoma.

Here's the videos and Enjoy the Show!

Thanks Jon. Sean and I want to create comprehensive video tutorials so people can have the best chance at tackling their own repairs to save a ton on the labor costs shops charge. For example, my local Toyota dealer in the California Bay Area charges $150/hour and they have a line of cars waiting for service every time I visit the parts department. They are making a killing and they don't cut their customers any slack. If the book says the job is 4 hours and they can finish it in 2 hours, they still bill you for 4 hours. The more people we can empower to do their own repairs the better. We're not curing cancer or anything but we are enabling people to save some hard-earned money by de-mystifying auto mechanics for them. And, we're learning in the process too, because the majority of these repairs we're doing, we've never done before. We just research other videos and write-ups and use the factory service manual as a reference to get the job done. It's basically our goal to improve on the current information available for a certain repair of modification so people have a higher chance of success with less cursing and frustration.

Being a retired mechanic myself, I know how it works. You guys do a good job explaining and covering all aspects of the repairs.
