Backup Camera Effectiveness

My 2012 doesn't have lines.

Since it is pointed downward, I can back up within a few inches of anything. I love it. I used it to parallel park today.

 

12DblCab, your '12 TRD Sport doesn't have the green and red lines in the display? Hmm... would've thought that all 2012 Sports had them. Wonder if it's regional?

 

Mine is fine. I'll take a camera over beeps 10 times out if 10. I'd rather see than just trust a noise.

 

I second that.

Basically only good for backing up to an object. Once you have to maneuver side to side like parallel parking or something I havent been able to figure that out. Left is up right is down I dunno lol.

I can back up to within a inch of the trash can behind my truck in my garage 100% of the time. That's a good thing considering I have about 3" to spare in front of my truck with the light bar to the garage door. I remember when I was buying my truck the salesman was telling me about the rear view camera and I was like "you can take that shit off.... I'll never use that". Boy was I ever wrong. I use it all the time.

I've never seen lines on there. I like having a clear camera view. Here's a pic of the dash screen with the ignition in the "ON" position and shifter in Reverse. Sorry it's dark, my garage is closed.
