    Hey there,

I just downgraded to a single cab 2008 from a 2012 DC. Now I can't live without a backup camera.

My head unit has the ability to plug in a camera. Do most of you use the license plate holder area for the location of the camera or above where the handle of the tailgate.

Any suggestion for the camera to buy? Thanks.

Not sure what kind of head unit you got but what I did was I found a 2014 factory head unit and then went to camera-source.com and ordered a camera kit from there, ordered the one where it states for a 2014-16 Tacoma and then selected that it wasn't pre wired that I needed a full harness. It's like $124.00 and you mount it in the tailgate handle, you can order a popnlock handle off of eBay or Amazon or while you are on camera-source.com you can order the kit with pop/n/lock it's like $180.00 and it's very easy to install. Took me about 2hrs total time to do
