    ARE Z-series Cap
A buddy of mine has an ARE Z-series on his X-Runner and it looks pretty good. It meets the edge of the cab and then rises maybe 1/2" max in the middle. That's what I plan on getting for mine. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics for you.

Just a thought, it looks like they removed the plastic caps on the top of the bed sides, because I don't see them in the picture. Does the cap just cover them, or did they actually remove them? With the ARE cap it sits on top of the caps and you can see them from the outside. If they were removed, that could make up for the lost 3/4".

My Jason Topper is even with the cab with a small rise toward the back. Yours doesn't look like any of the others I have seen, but doesn't look that bad either.

It wouldn't look too bad if you added a rack to the shell? Maybe. I dunno man, that looks pretty awkward. I'd be infuriated.

Shells are designd to run flush with the top of the cab. Wait and see what they say and if you are not satisfied, contact Corporate. Looks like you got the wrong shell for your truck. Almost looks like something for an S-10 or a Nissan.

Did they remove the bed top covers? You should be able to see for yourself if they did. That would definitely lower the height. My shell sits on top of those, and they had to add a rubber gasket on the top of the bed behind the cab.

I've actually seen a couple AC's around town with the same look on some LEERs... I'm thinking someone is taking the rail caps off or something because I'm pretty sure I've seen the same shell on others where it is flush.
