I have a 2014 Tacoma and I feel like the matinence schedule the dealership has me following excessive and expensive can someone on here with experience tell me what I need to have done to maintain the basic warranty? Truck just rolled over 40k kilometres.

I had an 2012 but it was written off(100% not at fault) and when I had it replaced I got the newer truck from a different(closer) dealership who has given me grief when I had a couple concerns with the trucks operation. I regret this decision but I just wanted to move on quickly after the accident. It goes to show that the retailer can make a huge difference even though the products are identical.

    Thanks

You know that you can use Any dealership of your choice right? It doesn't matter where you purchased the truck.

Does the service need to be completed by the dealership?
Damn I hope not because I've had my truck a year and 25k and haven't been to the dealership once

I'd go to another dealer for service, Elkhorn. I'm having the dealer do the free oil and tire rotations now, with me checking closely behind them, but when my maintenance plan runs out I'll do it myself. Good luck.

Take it to the dealer you like for service. No requirement to use the purchasing dealer.
