Best hid kit

Hey guys looking for the best hid kits for a 2004 taco. I have a set now and they are starting to drive me nuts! After driving for 20 minutes of keeping my head lights on I run into a store and when I come back into my truck to turn the lights on one of them don't light up. Is this normal with hids? Usually when they are cold they light right up, but lately only one works. And it isn't just one side. Sometimes the right side doesn't light up next time the left side doesn't light up. I flick them on and off a few times and it usually lights up both sides. I know this is really bad for my bulbs but its the only way to get both of them to work. Anyone know a fix for this or is my kit complete garbage. I didn't instal them so i don't know what brand they Are. Ive looked but havent seen a name any where. Or should I just buy a set of retro fit fxr's ?

Ya that was my second option but I'm worried ill have the same problem though. Anyone with retros having this problem? Or is this a shit kit

 

You might just have a wiring issue with these or some bad ballasts. A lot of these kits just use cheap chinese ballasts. If they're working properly they shouldn't be going out. I would just get all new stuff and do the projector retro. I think the retrofit source is where most buy their stuff from.

 

The kit is no good. Even cheap hid's don't do that... It might also be that there is not enough current to get both them through the warmup sequence, which might be indicative of a bad battery or alternator, I've had that happen... But you never know I'd go with retros myself. And I realize thus is kind of jumbled and short, but I'm on a phone lol

 

Ok thanks guys bathe weird part is they worked fine for the first two months. Than I've started to have problems. And mudthedoor I just bought a brand new optima yellow top a month ago with my scan gauge reading 14.1 volts while running so its charging so that's not an option. I'm going to but a new kit. A retro fit is pretty scary putting my head lamps in the oven. A guy in here does them with head lamp assembly,fxr hids and retrofit for like 800 bucks. That's always an option when I have the cash
