Best Mod for $200?

Throw out some suggestions. You've got $200 burning a hole in your pocket and you want to spend it on your truck (before the wife finds out). It can be aesthetic, mechanical (yea right), interior, exterior... What do you buy?

 

HID kit/aux. lighting

 

Sliding window bar, hood and bed light kits.

Depends on what you need. I got my whole cb setup for $120 including BAMF tailgate mount. Put pepboys driving lights in the bed cubbies for about $25. Tinted the windows and got a good windshield visor to keep the truck cool. Oil catch can to keep the intake/TB clean. Rear diff breather mod to hopefully extend the life of the rear axle seals. A lot of this has long term benefits and can be done for a reasonable amount. Most importantly: Put in quality gas and oil (if you don't already).

 

Husky floor mats and the rest depends on what you use the truck for, maybe some tools, jumper cables, recovery shackle, etc to keep in the truck.

 

WeatherTech floor liners and window vent visors.

 

$200 worth of plasti-dip.

 

Uh, how do you hide money from your wife? I think that is something we could all benefit from knowing!

Cheap mods? I'm a college student, I've hit expert level.

Got a Magnaflow muffler shipped and installed for a little over $100. Should have done that years ago!

Kobalt Slim Tool Box - $140. Free'd up a ton of room in the cab, takes up very minimal space in the bed, and looks surprisingly decent.

I also recently picked up some $20 Wetsuit seat covers from Costco, best $20 ever spent. They are universal, but after about a month have started fitting my sport seats extremely well and the grey/black color scheme matches the interior very well.

 

I do side work, metal fab/welding, and tell her about half of what I get paid and keep the other half in my hiding spot in the shop. Currently saving for suspension, wheels, and tires. The part I haven't figured out is what to tell her when all this stuff gets bolted on

Ext break lines and a good recovery strap.

 

Tell her the (part) truth.. Tell her you found some money in your shop..
Plus, tell her you are taking her out for dinner or treating her for a mani/pedi, wash up the truck (before she sees it), and let her see it as you leave for the place.
