    Was contemplating Falken wild peaks, or even Cooper ST Maxx's in 255/85-16's, but my local base exchange has the BFG KO2's in 265/75-16's for $712 installed & balanced...should I pull the trigger?

    I'm not so concerned about the $, but I really would like to keep my mud flaps, and i hear that i'll need to remove them with the 255's.

    The only thing is the BFG is that they are only in E rated. Pretty stiff tire for our light trucks. I’ve read here some say it fine and some hate the harsh ride.

    That's exactly why I moved up to a 17" wheels and run the ko2 in C load. 265 70 17.

    Not sure about them on a Tacoma (waiting for my 18) but they do ride harsh and generate quite a bit of noise on my Jeep.

    True but it was just to show that BFG's are not just an E Rated tire as you quoted.

    I had BFG KO2’s on my 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport. Best tires I have ever had. Of course, they replaced some of the worst tires I’ve Ever had...the stock Dunlop (garbage tires, IMO). Didn’t think the BFG’s were too stiff or loud at all. They were heavier and dropped my avg mpg’s from 18 to 16 (I’m mostly city).

    I would do BFG’s again in a minute. My current PRO came with decent tires...good enough to drive until they need replacing.

    I just installed 265/75/R16 BFG KO2's on my Taco and I too was worried about the reports of E-Load being too harsh. I dunno, maybe it's because I just came out of a Focus RS but these E-Load BFG's are more than okay lol. The ride is fine.
