So I attempted the Big 3 wire upgrade this weekend and ran into some issues.

A while ago during the Shok Industries group buy I purchased their "Uber Big3 kit"
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/group-buys/309921-shok-industries-big3-wiring-gb.html

a few months go by and then....Last week my alternator gave out on me. I purchased a reman Denso alternator and decided this was the perfect time to do the wiring upgrade. I replaced the following cables:

    1. Negative (-) on Battery to Engine Block (-)
    2. Alternator Post (+) to Fuse Box (on top[Blue])
    3. Starter (+) to Battery (+)

I did not replace the short cable that goes from the Fuse Box (on bottom [Red]) to Battery (+) because the larger gauge cable did not fit inside the Fuse Box, so I guess I need to figure out something there.

Now after I finished installing everything the battery will not charge. Scan Gauge is telling me 9.4 volts on average... Frustrated I called it a night as it was getting late. The next day when I tried to start the truck the battery was dead!

When I split open the wire loom I removed all the old wires attached to the battery and alternator and labeled them, cut the new wire to length, and crimped on the cables ends. Seemed like a pretty straight forward project that I managed to screw up some how.

I am going to try jumping it tomorrow and will use my multimeter to check the alternator and battery against the scan gauge but I don't really know where to start..any ideas??

Doesn't the alt positive got to the battery positve and the battery positive to the fuse block.

I was thinking that...but I am 100% sure this is how it came off the truck. I guess I will switch them in the morning and and try again.

I'm doing my homework before doing this upgrade. Do you remember how this turned out? What the problem/solution was? Thanks.

By the looks of it he didn't go from the starter to the battery.
You still have to keep the smaller white wire form the battery to the fuse box,or replace it with a new wire..
    So you need.from battery.;
    + to starter
    + to alt
    + to fuse box.

    - to motor
    - to chassie. IMG_20180821_230953_098.jpg

Hey, man that was an old post.

Turns out I had a faulty alternator from the parts store. Swapped it out and I was good to go.
Also that picture wasn't mine..I just used it for reference
