So I'm deciding on tough country UCAs and addaleaf for the rear. I'm set on the billies 5100 but I have one question. Can I use the factory coil with these shocks and still achieve a 2.5 inch lift since they are adjustable? I see they sell them for 345 all four but it jumps to 800 with the coil installed? Do I need a new spring from eibach/toytec? Trying to save as much as possible . Only want to achieve a 3-4 inch lift.

    yep..
You can achieve 2.5 with stock coils but they will be quite preloaded and the ride will be stiff.

What I did was run stock coils at the second setting in addition to 1/2 spacers which gave me an extra inch. If you want to "do it right", go for the aftermarket coils and let them do the lifting.

Ok perfect I'll just buy the coils , I don't want a stiff ride. I wanted someone's experience in the issue. Thanks

You should be able to buy the coils with the bilsteins already assembled, so you don't have to mess with a spring compressor.

Yea I know it's convenient, I'll see what I do. Assembled they are 800-900. I see the four shocks for 345 on eBay and the springs for 199. If to compress it at the shop is cheap I'll buy it separate.

I've ran the 5100's at full lift with stock springs and it was only slightly stiffer ride. Changing the tires has made more of a difference. IMO

I was running 285/75/16 with that set up. I did need to trim the inner fender in front of the tires and the mud flaps.

I'm actually running a spacer on the strut and a. 2 inch block. I only needed to remove mudflaps. I just want a better ride with the better shocks and AAL and UCAs

You don't need a spring compressor. You can just use the jack under the control arm and compress them that way. Safer than a compressor anyway.

I second the no compressor route. Loosen the control arm and Jackie under it. The weight of the truck compresses the spring. I just put them on mine, took probably 20 minutes a side.

There is a really good YouTube video on it if you search for it

Wish this worked for me. Both sides my LCAs were seized. Wouldn't drop enough even with bolts loose. Had to do the compressor route.
