Has anyone had an issue trying to remove your front shock because the top hat of the coil over is seized from the mounting hangar of the chassis was there any way you managed somehow to remove it by using heat & hitting it with a mallet without damaging anything? If you had to resort to doing this method did you replace the top hat of the bilstein 6112 & if so what is the part# or could I use the original OEM top hat? Any helping answers would be appreciated thanks!

Having a tough time visualizing the issue based on your description but yes the 6112 utilizes the OEM top hat. Id be cautious about applying heat/flame near a shock absorber. You sure you removed the correct nuts for removal of the 6112? Throw up a pic.

When this happens I generally leave the top hat if the threads are okay tbh. I’ll replace the rubber isolator if necessary though. If removal is necessary, it generally requires disassembling the coilover at the LCA level so that everything else is out of the way. Then heat the heck out of the top hat and slam it with a chisel and sledge. It’ll rattle loose.
