Bilstein 6112

Nice! I've heard the 5160's are pretty much backordered universally.

 

Just installed 6112 with 650# springs (3x13) on a 2014 AC 4x4 6MT. I bought TRD PTR13-35120AA springs which are supposedly 650#. My US Offroad slim bumper is about 70lb and my warn evo-8s winch about 65lb, 135lb total weight upfront. I used 75% preload clip position for both sides and ended up with about 2.25-2.5”
I’ll update after I rip some alleys and break-in the springs but I think this is a good lift height. CV fins are not touching yet, could maybe go another half inch higher even. The TRD 650# springs basically compensate a little for the bumper/winch weight. 6112 normally come with 600-610lb spring roughly.

edit: so far has settled to 1.75-2.00 on D/S and 2.00-2.25 on P/S side. Thinking about that fifth clip now...

 

Literally everywhere, I called looking for a solid day.

 

I decided to just order and get in line whenever they hit the shelf haha...likely months from now.

 

Here I go.
6112s with 700# springs on 4th clip and... 1/4" top plate spacer.
I have front & rear steel bumpers, winch, Rock sliders, 1/4" steel skids, 2 aux batteries, fridge in back seat and a shell.
I'll report back on lift and ride later this week.
Adding new leaf springs and stuff in the rear too.

 

Love the Stoptechs. I bet they work like the extra weight’s not even there.

 

I decided to go with the 700lb springs when I ordered also. Now I am wondering if I made the right choice on the springs, curious to hear the results. Good luck with everything.

 

I would be curious to hear how you like that brake caliper setup.

How’s turning without the sway bar? Did you get standard coils?

Beautiful where is that the fab-40s? Love those old craftsman bungalows. Oh yeah those coil overs look good too.

 

Took the sway bar off couple years ago.
Handles great.
I really needed to do this.
Same valving as my 7100s in the rear.

 

My coils couldn’t handle any hard turning. So I tuned up my sway bar, now it’s better.

 

Ty for the update. Everyone said 700lb springs would be too much for me but after seeing my ride height with 650 3”x13” springs I wasn’t convinced. Did you also use the stock 13” height? Another formula to try is 650# but 14” height…
