Blinking TPMS light

Just wanted to confirm that a continuously blinking TPMS light means that one of the sensors is either malfunctioning, or the sensor battery has gone dead? All tires including spare are at the proper pressure, and there are no codes according to my Ultrgauge.

If the sensor battery is dead, anyone have any luck replacing the battery, or are they sealed inside? The cheapest TPMS sensor I could find was ~$75, I'd be happy if it was just the battery and it could be replaced. No idea which wheel. Thanks in advance!

 

Can you have it checked to see if it just lost the signal due to another signal's interference? Maybe it's still good- just needs reflashing?

 

The batteries have a 5 - 7 year life expectancy. When they die, the whole sensor needs to be replaced.

 

Okay, that's what I thought. They lasted 9 years, so I guess that's not too bad. Wish there was a way to just delete them altogether, I regularly check the pressure anyway.

Do a search, they have a write up here about bypassing the TPMS Light.

 

Or you could ignore it.

 

I have been, for over a month. Since I'll be needing new tires soon, I figured I might as well ask if the batteries are replaceable. Would have been a cheap fix.

 

One of my sets of wheels doesn't have sensors, so I ignore the light for about half of the year. I'm sure the blinking doesn't help.

If your tire guy can figure out which one it is, you could just replace that one, but I'm sure the others are ready to die too.
