Block Heater ?

Like I said before it's not like it will not start. It's are you willing to damage the engine when it does not need to be that way?

Way easier to plug it in a half hour before you start it then have all the problems cold weather starting will cause. -30 is not too bad.

It will cause problems. My buddy used to say I don't have to plug in my truck, it's got two batteries it will always start. Yup it started alright. That spring that engine was toast, it blew up, I laughed. To me it's just not worth it. If you are living in a really cold spot you need one. It's kind of pay now or pay more later idea. In this country there is only one spot where it is not mandatory from new to have one. Most cars & trucks here have them new off the lot.

 

I've got the Toyota block heater (around $40 from the dealer) and it was a easy install. After seeing a couple pictures of the way the dealer ran the cord I decided to just do it myself. There's more than enough length to do a nice run back to the firewall, down the drivers side engine bay and out the front grill.
