Hello everyone I’d like to get some opinions on bottoming out. Coming home from work i normally go over this “water ditch” you have to cross to get into the neighborhood. I went a little to fast and felt like I bottomed out the fronts but didn’t really hear a thud. I have Perry parts bump stops and my Dobinsons suspension is pretty stiff. Are my components alright? Will bottoming out once in a while break my components???

It's a Toyota but its better to slow down.

The biggest problem is risk of losing control, I've had a few bottom outs where the speed didnt carry properly and I nearly wrecked. One was worsened by my one hand barely holding the wheel, could barely react to save it.

You’re golden. Bottoming out your suspension once in a while helps you learn your truck’s performance envelope and doesn’t hurt a thing.

Just don’t overdo it by bottoming out in turns or intentionally jumping the truck unless you build it for that and are willing to accept the consequences.

Wait, these trucks aren't supposed to bottom out on nearly every bump?
