Had/have Weathertech on my old Tundra and both Tacos. No issues, no damage, great fitment, doesn't hurt anything, may not help anything but they work for me!! Does protect the very front of metal hood. I don't worry about the plastic shit.

I bought a Weathertech and due to the crappy fitment of the hood, the deflector was hitting the top of the grill and the top of the headlights. It is not a Weathertech issue or an AVS issue, it is a hood fitment issue from Toyota in Mexico. I kept it on for 20 minutes.

    Seems like its about 50/50.
Can anyone confirm that the AVS bugflector 2 is screw in and not tape on?
The part is 25681 and different sites and pdf instructions say different things...

Edit....just picked one up from local auto store. Its screw in style.

I don't get that either. Mine is an AVS and it fits perfectly. Doesn't touch the hood, and it works, although again, for me, I only bought it for looks.

Ok, so that was a big waste of time. Like an 0-4 with 4 strikeouts.
Opened the package and saw it had more than a few scuffs and scratches...meh, big deal, I can live with that.
Installed it and noticed that it was warped. The top drivers side right where it bends down was cut wrong from the manufacturer and caused it to bow upwards at that point. Looked completely uneven side to side and was really noticeable.
Furthermore, it did make contact with my grill and headlights. That may have been due to it being warped, but I dont know.
Finally, even if it was straight and free of defects, once I had it on my truck, I hated the look of it.
Weird, cuz it looks pretty good on others that have posted, but I couldnt stand it on mine. I couldnt take it off fast enough...LOL.
Right back to the store for a refund.

I installed the weather tech one for saving the windshield from chips and cracks, not so much for bugs.
In fact, this is how a 2000-mile highway trip without a car wash looks like, even with bug deflector.
But I have no doubt without it, there would have been more dead bug juice.

Someone on here posted a link to taller hood bumpers. I tried to adjust the stock ones but the hood still drops a quarter of an inch or so below both fenders. If I can find the different bumpers, I believe this would fix the hood fitment issue and possibly be a fix for the bug deflector problem and the hood would sit up higher when closed.

I had the same issue with 2 weather techs. My truck is a 2020 USA made truck. I returned both

I have the AVS low profile hood deflector screwed under the hood and have no issues with rubbing etc. I did not install those little round nipples on the end of the deflector and went through not sure how many car washes and it never bent back and damaged the hood at all. Very happy with it and also had the low profile AVS in the channel window deflectors too. Great products.
