Has anyone used OReilys caliper dust boots for V6 Prerunner ?
Im not sure where it goes. But the boot fits just not over the bottom lip that the factory ones does.
The boot is above the top of the piston instead of tapering down like the factory one. It fits but not in the same way.

Dust boots are crazy gremlins over complicated and squirrely. Wheel still sticking somewhat as if a piston is causing drag but its not noticeable unless jack wheel up and try to turn wheel off the ground.

The caliper doing it is one from Oreilys, the other side is the factory Toyota caliper which is fine. Probably will need to.

I don't ever rebuild them. OEM if you can find them. Many aftermarket brands cut corners when rebuilding calipers.

If you rebuild an OE Toyota caliper with OE Toyota parts - available at your dealer - you generally won't have any issues. Remanufactured calipers from parts stores are hit or miss - mostly miss. But then you already found that out.

No I have not used crappy chain auto parts store caliper parts. I used genuine good quality well priced kits picked up at the nearby dealer parts counter.

Wheel seemed like it was dragging little still so took old worn pads installed them and pumped brakes to make sure pistons extended and were free.
