10 yr ago I installed this (Boyo VTL375)backup cam with my headunit upgrade. It has served me well - but flickered and went dark a couple days ago. I believe the short identified in the photo is the reason why. I'd like to try to get things working without pulling the head unit and running a new wire.

I see a lot of potential options. I could remove the connector and solder the wires together - but doing that upside down is not fun. Little wire nuts for each of the 4 wires could work, but I don't know about wire nuts that small. Ideally I'd like to put another connector like this in place - but I don't know what it's called or how to find it.

It looks like the newer models typically use a different connector.

Can anyone help me find a new connector - or confirm what plug I should put on the cable to match the newer cams?

    Thanks in advance.

a common thing is the ground location failing (screw getting rusty or something)

Nearly every Amazon camera uses a different connector with different pin locations. Your best bet will honestly be to pull the camera and run a new one.

Soldering camera wires is a PAIN even on a work bench. Much less under the truck.

you won’t find crimp connectors or anything for that tiny gauge of wire

As long as you have the wire length you could chop out that connector and use a small gauge terminal block to reconnect them together.

    Thank you both.

I'm thinking I may just strip all the wires on both ends and try to twist them together with some heat shrink and just see if the current cam still works.
