last week I was in a rush at 2am to hunt and I backed out of my garage with my camper shell open. This is now the second time I've done this and this time, I did it good.

I was wondering if anyone has taken and replaced their whole back door on a fiberglass camper? I've only seen a couple of videos are YouTube, and most are just replacing the door. I would like to replace door and frame that is attached to the fiberglass. I have a Leer 180

I called the camper dealer and they said it happens and that the can take pictures and give me a quote. Wondering if doing it myself would be easy and I can save some money.

I have a Leer 180 that was repainted at time of purchase due to poor color match. They pulled all the windows and rear door to paint. I watched them re-install the rear door in about 10 mins. However I have some of the screws on the top portion already coming out since they stripped them. Dumb A$$s.. Anyway
they have turned in a warranty claim to resolve it..

so the rear door frame is just screwed into the fiberglass? I'm wondering if I take them out if I too would strip them out. lol.

No the screws in mine were stripped when they were reinstalled. They used a elec drill gun, with most likely too much torque dialed in. If I'm not mistaken the screws go thru the fiberglass and back into the external aluminum framework of the hatch.

If nothing else, you would be able to confirm this by just removing all the screws and pulling the rear hatch off.

I asked the Leer dealer about just installing a larger diameter screws to fix it but he sad he was just going to warranty the replacement. Note, I do not have a replacement installed yet and just sent a follow up email requesting the status.
