Can-Back or Softopper???

I'm looking at getting a soft top camper shell and I found these two. Other than the price, Can-Back: $1100 and Softopper: $589, what's the difference???

I was thinking that too. But I kinda like the soft top look on the black 1st gen Xtra cabs. So would the Softopper be better since it's like half the price?

 

IMO I think the soft topper looks better and a lot cheaper at that.

 

This is a dumb question, but what's "IMO"?

I didn't really see a difference, but both companies offer stuff like safari racks, side windows...etc.

what about the bestop? i know a few people have those on here. they look pretty nice too

 

Best top sounds cool because you can roll up forward. If you need to haul something tall you have the option compared to hard top. something to consider. Might haul a 4wheeler/motorcycle?

 

get a bestop about the same $$$ as the softopper and better quality imo

 

I am picking up a Softtopper for my Taco used. It happens to be the same size and model that works on the Chevy Colorado and I know someone parting with one. Same PN from Softtopper and everything! Yea! I am picking it up next weekend.

I have a friend who has been running a Sofftopper on his driver Dodge for a while now and he loves his.

 

I hella want one but they're soo expensive.

 

If I had to buy new, I wouldn't be. I would be getting a rooftop tent from Camping Labs. Funny thing is, the guy I am buying it from is getting exactly that.

 

Can bak can hold more weight on top than the softopper if u plan on putting a tent on top go with the can bak

 

Canback isn't made of vinyl it's also got an integrated pack rack system that is expandable and can support a rooftop tent which soft toppers can't. If you don't want a rooftop tent go with softopper if you do canbak all the way, military grade fabric etc.

 

I had a Canback on a short bed Ram for 10yrs, it is basically a bed rack with a high quality canvas shell over it, all 4 sides roll up, and the roof rack would have easily supported a RTT.
Very high quality!
Expensive but worth it.
