Can this be replaced?

I have a 2005 Tacoma SR5.

An exploded view of the Air Cleaner Assembly. #4 can it be replaced? I noticed when replacing my air filter that it has some dinge on it. Nobody seems to know a part number or if it can even be replaced without replacing the whole Air Cleaner Assembly.

 

Looks like it's only available in the full assembly.

If you look here there isn't a listing on the side for part number 4 so my best guess is you have to buy the entire intake to get it.

When you pull that piece out of your truck does it have a part # on it?

At work when we look up parts like that typically it will have a list price for in you case #1 and you can find another break down that will have a list for #4. Have you talked to a Toyota parts person. It may be a dealer only part.

 

Haven't pulled it out but now that you mentioned it I think I will just stop at my local Toyota dealership and ask them even though I think they will be telling me its only obtainable by buying the whole assembly.

That piece is plastic riveted to the box, doesn't come separate.

 

It doesn't just "pull out". There are plastic studs holding it in, and they have been melted on the top sort of like a plastic rivet. Never intended to be replaced. But it's only function is environmental, to catch any potential gas fumes that might leak backward out of the intake when the vehicle is shut off. Not exactly an ozone-depleting problem...
