thanks for help with cap questions so far guys. Whats the conventional thinking re lighting in the cap as far as battery vs wired into truck 12v system? Seems like if they don't work when the truck isn't running, it wouldn't make sense to go 12v route. Its 100 bucks for two 6 foot LED strips wired to truck 12v, do the dealers typically only wire into the tail light wiring, which i'm assuming wont' be an "always on" power source? Are there awesome battery powered options that i can just do myself? Going on a 2014 DBLB in case thats relevant.

I had mine wired -- it was part of the installation. I like it and has been very dependable

Ordered me'cap yesterday, ended up with an ARE MX in spruce green with the flip in sliding front window, two vented windoors, two 6' led light strips on 12v, and a double handled latch on the back hatch, and i opted for the carpeted headliner which is free on special right now, and the yakima rack system. Time to start researching cool diy cap outfiiting:)

If anyone in my area is looking, i would highly recommend Rebel Liners in Batavia. The gentlemen is very easy to work with and flexible, AND he kicked the shit out of the comparable Leer quote that i got from three dealers, i'll update once the thing is installed but i have no doubt he'll take care if bidnezz.

I modified an Antidark hood lighting kit (found in the vendors section). Check the pics in my gallery. I hid the wiring under the carpeted liner and modded the hood pin switch to work with the caps' door.

I used a Mattgecko (vendors section) Bed light kit on mine and wired it to the battery, works great and is really bright.
