CB specifics

OK so I just went through all 41 pages hoping to find what I was looking for but came up empty handed. Has anyone successfully installed a Cobra 25 in their truck, and if so, can you take a picture of it?

I had to remove the mount due to it rubbing the tailgate too much. It even rubbed through 3 layers of masking tape when I had the antenna off. The pictures are after I removed the tape and cleaned off as much of the rubbed off powder coating as I could.




You can slightly see a black Mark by some tape. That is where it rubs.

 

I had one installed on each side of my bed. I thought it was rubbing because I put bed stiffeners on, still could be the culprit.

I had to remove both - and I'm going to post them for sale.

 

It's too bad because the mount itself is a great idea. I even tried different positions, and still had the rubbing. Not sure where to mount an antenna now, with the Softopper.

 

Keep us posted on what you do please . I have the same issue you are running into with soft top and trying to find a good way to mount the antenna

 

I've just purchased the Galaxy DX-98VHP tuned. Got the Wilson 1000 roof mount magnetic. Amplified road devil mic. All from Bells CB.

 

Is that rubbing from the antenna moving from the wind while driving? Or from opening and closing the tailgate? I just ordered right and left side for pod lights.

Good....no, GREAT radio. I had a Galaxy 99 a while back. They are a tool rather than a toy.

 

I can't wait to get it. Bud from bells cb told me once it's tuned it'll be a moving base station. I said go big or go home. I just needed something to have in truck. It is a requirement when riding some of the trail parks. So I said do it up BIG!! Cmon

 

Thanks for posting up pictures. We just made another batch and added a bit more bend angle to the area that fits through the tailgate. We are hoping this will keep the bracket away from the edge of the gate. We can send you one of the new brackets to see if that will solve the problem. If it doesn't, then I'm really not sure what solution there is. It may just be too tight of an area to fit a bracket between and we may have to discontinue them. Uniden Pro520Xl. Bud called me after I placed my order to tell me the Mic I had chosen was not the best Mic for that radio. He explained to me why, its impedence with the radio was all wrong. He talked to me like an adult, also. He was very respectful. He suggested 3 others. When I told what I needed out of a mic he didnt even hesitate to tell me I needed the Palomar SL41. Knowledge and great customer service. Used my radio for the first time this weekend up in the Ga hills, great talker! Im sending my Cobra25 to him when he starts doing send-ins again.

 

Where are you guys mounting your external speakers? I have a

Uniden Bearcat BC 15 and I'm not sure where a good place is to mount it. I saw someone had mounted it under the driver side dash but i don't see a good place to put it. Suggestions? Under the seat? Behind the center console? I've got an access cab.

 

I'm thinking of mounting behind the console behind the Qi charger.
